If you’re feeling overwhelmed and confused with how to eat well to support the immune system, start with at least one of the steps below.

  1. SUGAR: Replace sugar (candy, soda, dessert, fruit juice, Starbucks, etc.) with healthier ways to satisfy carb cravings...fresh fruit, dried fruit, sweet potatoes, rice, and gluten-free oats if you tolerate them well.

  2. GLUTEN: Replace bread, tortillas, and other foods containing gluten with gluten-free options. Click here for gluten-free bread, and here for tortillas.

  3. ANTIOXIDANTS: Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. Rotate and introduce new options (like dragon fruit!) to support a more diverse microbiome.

  4. BLOOD SUGAR: When consuming high carb foods like bananas, mango, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, and rice, pair it with protein and fat to slow absorption and support healthier blood sugar levels.

  5. OIL CHANGE: Replace vegetable oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, canola oil, Crisco, and cottonseed oil, with healthier fat options like pasture-raised butter, Kasandrino’s olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, and raw nuts/seeds.
