What Youth Athletes Should Be Doing This Summer
Coach Jonathon Holliday will be running his Iron Athlete program at 925 again this summer and it couldn’t come at a better time! We’ve been hearing from parents and coaches that this summer is going to be tough for their youth athletes due to limited space and restrictions on athletic camps and especially strength and conditioning.
Iron Athlete is a solid solution where your youth athlete can get 1-on-1 attention in a small group (<12) environment. Almost every strength and conditioning program in general school athletics is much larger, with up to 100+ kids with a few coaches to help them train. While there is merit to training as a team in these larger groups, it is not possible to provide the attention and progress a small group environment can.
This year’s Iron Athlete starts June 8th and is 4 days a week. Pricing is also weekly to give parents the ultimate flexibility in case restrictions are lifted or anything changes.

I have been involved in athletics for as long as I can remember. When I was a senior in high school we had to write a paper about what we wanted to do as our profession. I knew I was passionate about sports and had to find a way to stay involved which led me to pursue a career in teaching and coaching.
I went to Blinn College where I played football and finished my college experience at Texas State University earning a Bachelors in Exercise and Sports Science. I started coaching in 2008 at Stinson Middle School coaching Football, Basketball, and Track. In 2011 I accepted a position at Taft High School coaching Football and Baseball. In 2013 I was promoted to Offensive Coordinator and changed my second sport to Boys Track. I was the youngest Coordinator in the District at the time. I am currently at Harlan High School coaching Football and Track.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Lindsay, and we have been together for 18 years and married for 10. We have been blessed to have 2 beautiful baby girls (Reese 3 ½ years old and Ryane 17 months old). I started Crossfit in November 2017 to help me with training for half marathons. Before I began, I thought I was in decent shape and quickly learned my overall fitness had a lot of room for growth. After my first workout I was hooked. I enjoy the inner battles with myself to get better. My daughter, Reese, loves to come up to the gym to cheer us on and pretend to workout with her daddy. CF 925 is my 2nd home. I love the competition and the family atmosphere and I’m excited to be a Coach!
