I joined the Air Force in 1993 because honestly, I had no idea what else to do and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Turned out it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I started out as a K-9 officer with Air Force Security Police, working narcotic, explosive and patrol (attack) dogs for the next 12 years. After that, I was accepted into the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and eventually retired in 2013 as a Supervisory Special Agent here in San Antonio. The Air Force introduced me to so many wonderful, as well as heartbreaking, things we, as humans, do to and for each other. I've been all over the world and have seen the best man has to offer and the worst. The military also introduced me to the best part of my life, my wife. As I only served 20 years, she has now surpassed me and is working on her 21st year in the Air Force. She's currently deployed and will return home around mid to late January.

I currently work for the Air Force as an investigator in the Office of the Inspector General. When I'm not at work you'll find me in one of two places, running on one of the many, many trails and paths in San Antonio, or at 925. Other than that, I'm with my family or doing homework for my Master's program at UT Austin.

Justin joined CrossFit 925 in April 2018 and regularly attends the 4:30 class. He loves getting a run in before class

  • Hobbies: Spending time with family, running with the San Antonio RoadRunners and homework :)

  • Favorite CrossFit Workout and/or Movement: Cindy & box jumps

  • Least Favorite CrossFit Workout and/or Movement: Overhead squats - I just can’t seem to get my lower body to cooperate with my upper body and DT - how do you keep the grip from failing?!?

A regular at our 4:30 PM class, you’ll usually find Justin arriving early to log a few miles before his workout. He’s always friendly, welcoming and quick with a joke keeping the class fun and lighthearted, even during the grueling workouts. When he’s not in class, you can’t help but notice his absence. His commitment and hard work in and outside of the gym is something we really admire and serves as an inspiration to those around him. Justin, we honor you for your bravery and service to our country and the sacrifices you and your family made to keep us a free nation. We thank you and are beyond grateful to have you as part of our 925 family.
