Italian Taco Joe's

This dish tastes like an Italian blend of sloppy Joe’s and tacos. Eat on fresh tortillas!

Prep Time: 20-25 minutes

Servings: 1-3

Ingredients (measurements are approximate)

  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 lb Ground Beef

  • 1 diced Onion

  • 1 ½ cups Italian Herb Pasta Sauce (Whole Foods 365 brand)

  • Spices:

    • 1 tbsp Yellow Mustard (Trader Joe’s)

    • 2 tsp Italian Herb Seasoning (Natural Grocers bulk section)

    • 1 tsp Oregano (Natural Grocers bulk section)

    • ½ tbsp Taco Seasoning (Natural Grocers bulk section)

    • 1 tsp Himalayan Salt

    • ¼ tsp Black Pepper

    • 3-4 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

Directions

  1. Cook the diced onion over medium-high heat until just browned. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, taco seasoning, oregano, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the meat is fully browned, then add balsamic vinegar and mustard and cook for an additional five minutes. 

  2. Finally, add the pasta sauce and simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
