What Are the Best Pre-Workouts?

I receive this question from time to time. So here are my top choices when it comes to pre-workout options...besides the best pre-workout which is WATER.

  1. Carbs: An hour before working out, eat some carbs like bananas and oatmeal.

  2. Green/black tea or coffee. This is a straightforward option if you’re looking for just a caffeine boost to get you going. Bonus: There are no sweeteners when you drink tea/coffee plain.

  3. ATP Ignite. This is a great option for the caffeine boost paired with some amazing vitamins/minerals like chromium, zinc, folate, magnesium, B6, and B12 (note: methylcobalamin is the good form of B12, always avoid products with the cyanocobalamin form of B12). This product can usually only be purchased through a healthcare practitioner with a Xymogen account, but you can find it at Local Health Market in San Antonio. Sweetened with: maltodextrin and stevia leaf extract.

  4. Natural Force: Raw Tea. This option is just plants and extracts and provides a calm energy boost. Sweetened with: stevia leaf extract.

  5. MRM Driven. This option is similar to ATP Ignite and also contains some other ingredients like red beet root for increased nitric oxide production. Sweetened with: stevia leaf extract and monk fruit extract.
